Resurrect That Hope: Another Chance At A “New Year”

New beginnings aren’t limited to January 1st. It’s a good thing, too, ’cause chaos has already crashed my New Year’s dreams, and I haven’t turned the first page of my fresh calendar.   Sometimes it’s my own fault, I don’t always manage my life well. New calendars hold profound promise for me. They invite me to think outside the task-crammed squares of last year’s planner. They inspire me to re-imagine my life. Every unpolluted square presents an opportunity to rethink priorities, refocus — — and re-ignite a passion for the life God created me to live. God created each of us for passionate, purposeful living. But somehow throughout the year our passion gets lost in the living of it. So how do we re-ignite our passion for life, for God?  First: Surrender fully to God. (Galatians 2:20) God created you and me to know, love, and enjoy Him. He created us to glorify Him as we obey His Word, reflect His Son, and share His love through the gospel. God crafts His plans for us to accomplish His purposes. “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies … Continue reading
