You Are Loved

“God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.”  Augustine   “God loves you.” I know, we hear that so much it skitters across our brain and bounces off. But perhaps today you and I need to listen, to really hear it with our heart. God loves you. Did you get that? You. Not some amorphous mass of humanity — — you. You are special to God. Devotional: When Loving God Hurts

I was reclining on the couch one evening reading when the call came, “Beth, I have a situation . . . ” Within minutes, a crisis launched me into action. It began that morning in another state with a rabid skunk and three curious dogs. My sister who had vaccinated my dogs along with her own, had recently moved out of state. One of her beloved dogs had killed the rabid skunk and Animal Control demanded vaccination records for all three dogs present at the kill–or they would all be euthanized. She had three days to find her records. Experiencing More of God

  Do you want to experience more of God? Aren’t you hungry for more of His voice, for more of His presence? I want to know what it takes to go deeper with God. Extended prayer and study? Deep suffering? I know those things can help, but as I prayed an answer came, surprising and simple, a single key to open the door to “more” of Him: “Love the LORD your God with all your heart . . . “  Matthew 22:37 Yes, I know, it’s a well worn Scripture.
