God’s Faithfulness Has Many Faces

“Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” Psalm 36:5     Have you ever noticed how often God’s faithfulness comes to us in the form of people? It speaks in the friendly voice on the other end of the line. It texts an encouraging message to our cell phone. It pulls into our driveway in a familiar, quirky car. It comes in flesh and blood, in real time. Recently, I was in need of encouragement from God. As I read this Psalm, I asked Him to reveal a few recent, tangible examples of His faithfulness to me. So Your Writing Has Been Rejected. Now what?

Psalm 37:5-6 “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.” I just returned from a writer’s conference where each year aspiring writers carefully pack up their dreams and carry them to an idyllic setting in the Santa Cruz mountains. And every year their dreams either soar above the redwoods or get trampled on the dirt paths that wind among them. I wonder today if your dreams lay wilted and soggy along a woodland path. If so, take heart, dear one, let’s not give up!
